Thanksgiving Randomness

Happy Late Thanksgiving!
We had our big dinner on Sunday and it was worth the wait!
The girls and I started baking on Saturday and we made all these yummy desserts!

We made 2 pumpkin pies, jello jigglers, pilgrim hat cookies, banana pudding, and a huge cheese torte (it's kinda like a cheese cake bar thing)
Yummy!
The banana pudding was my fave! It was my first time making it and omg I will make it again and again and again!

I also made some homemade rolls that were great.
Gotta love a bread maker!
Seriously try these rolls! they are amazing!

The food was great! We even got a picture!
My dad, my grandpa, me and my 3 girls =)

My daughter got some new American Girl doll clothes in the mail from my mom.

I can't think of a clever title today

Today was such a productive day!
I cleaned all day today. I rearranged the living room and cleaned out all the coat closets. I'm not sure why but we have 2 huge boxes of shoes. I sorted them all and some how I have an entire box of mismatched shoes. Go figure.

Bella was playing with the swiffer so I put her to work! I put a wet cleaning rag on the swiffer and sprayed some of the all purpose cleaner I made this week on it. She washed all the floors. Who knew cleaning could be so fun?

After the cleaning spree I finished my wreath. I don't know if I'm going to add a bow or not. I kinda want to add one to cover up the lopsided part. Christmas stuff is half off at Kmart tomorrow so I'm going to see what they have. For now this will do.

To keep the girls busy while I was cleaning I had them take all the tabs off the pop cans. I made this great bracelet and I love it! I'm going to put some in their stockings. I think I will add some ribbon on theirs. I was very surprised at how easy it was. I used elastic sting so its stretchy too =)

Happy early Thanksgiving

Wreath Attempt

Today I decided I wanted to make one of those cute ornament wreaths.
Once I decide I want to do something I have to do it right away.
I went to all the thrift stores in town and scored some awesome bulbs and went home and started at it. This is what the wreath looked like when I strung them on the hanger and added a few small bulbs.

I decided that it wasn't perfect and it needed more. I added more and then of course time had flown by and it was time for work. This is where I left off.
I'm totally kicking myself because going back looking at the first picture it looked good!
Now it's kinda lopsided. I still have some more bulbs to add and maybe I can find a big green bow. I will post a picture when it's done. Not to bad for a first try I guess.

Make it Monday

We were so busy today!
Today was crazy hectic. The dog ran away (don't worry he came back!) My one year old fell on her face out the door, and I left my key turned in my van so the battery died and I was late for work. With that going on we still had time to fit some fun projects in. Sorry for how short and crappy the writing is on this post. I had a lot more but then my computer froze and I lost it all. Go figure. So I'm just going to post some pictures and links so sit back and get lost in the tutorials =)

The first thing I made was some eye make up remover. This is the stuff you need and here is the tutorial. I got those cute little pink bottles at walmart in the toiletries isle. I followed the recipe and it perfectly filled the two bottles.

Next I made some AWESOME cleaner! If you have never made your own cleaner you need to! It's soooo much cheaper and personally I love the satisfaction of using something and thinking "omg I made that!". First i made some Windex with this tutorial and it was AMAZING! I hate cleaning and I was running around washing all my mirrors and windows. I then made some all purpose cleaner and car window de-icer (sp?). I wanted to make some of this miracle cleaner but I forgot to buy some peroxide boo!

While were talking cleaning I scored a great deal on some magic eraser type sponges! I got 30 for $9 shipped!! Here is the link if you want to buy some. They work amazing on tubs and just about anything you can think of!

For lunch we made these pizza balls and omg they were soooo good! The balls were kind of a long process so I gave up and made a big pizza blob haha. I used crescent roll dough and it was hard to work with so i would use pizza dough like suggested.

For dinner my hubby made these Taco Melts. I reheated mine in the microwave when I got home from work and it was like heaven! this recipe is a keeper for sure!

I found this page with how to make your own taco seasoning, dry ranch mix, and dry onion soup mix. This is stuff we use all the time so I decided to make some. I did have to go out and buy the spices to make it but I'm glad to have a jar full of taco seasoning rather than having to run to the store every time we need some and then throwing half the pack out.

Last I made some of these super cute paint chip books! Ava is going to LOVE the little match book ones and the book ones are the perfect size for her American Girl Doll!! I'm not going to post a tutorial for this one because they are pretty self explanatory. You can always google it =)

I want to make some of this pore cleaning stuff one of these days. Think biore strips! Here is the link, it looks super easy. If you try it let me know.

If you have any questions or want me to post something let me know <3

Happy Monday!!

Bath Crayon Tutorial!

I've been wanting to make these for a while and I'm glad I finally did! they were so easy!
I read a lot of tutorials and then did my own thing.

What you need:
  • Any bar soap (I used Ivory because that's what I had, but it's so soft I will use something different next time)
  • bowls to separate
  • food coloring
  • hot water
  • cookie sheet or something to set the crayons on

1. Grate all the soap and seperate it into bowls. I used 2 bars of soap and separated it into 8 bowls

2.Put a few drops of food coloring into each bowl. I used 6 drops.

3. Now it's time to add the water. This party was tricky at first. You want to add VERY LITTLE water! I added a very small amount and then used a fork to mix it all together then I used my hands to roll it into a ball and then I flattened it so it was the shape of a baby bell. **I found if you mix it all with a fork first the food coloring didn't get on my hands but when i mixed it all together with my hands they turned colors**

4. Put your cute little crayon on your cookie sheet. I used a muffin tin but next time I will just use a cookie sheet. I put them in the freezer for about 15 min so that they could harden. Make sure you don't push them down into the muffin pan if thatss what you use because then it's hard to get out.

I read on almost every tutorial that you are suppose to let dry for a day or two but we don't like to wait so we are going to use them later today

I liked making these because they didn't have set measurements. I hate measuring =)

I also made this sticky bun ring for breakfast =)

Have a great day!

Sock Bun!

For all you moms out there wanting an easy cute hair style this is great.
I found this tutorial and decided I had to try it!

Here is how mine looks. Try it out and let me know how you like it!

Here is the front. I used a snowman sock and you could see part of the white so i put a bow in front of it.

If you see any fast and easy hair styles let me know! I wear my hair up everyday and I'm getting sick of the same old same old!

Fixing American Girl Doll hair!

If you have looked at my previous posts you can see that our American Girl doll always has her hair up in a crazy pony. Well it's because her hair is ruined........or so I thought! Since I gave my daughter the doll I have been watichng tutorials online like a crazy person. ((Most are posted by 10 year old girls haha)) While I was checking out the tutes today I found one on washing the AG dolls hair! I was like no way this has got to be to good to be true! I figured it couldn't get any worse right?

I washed and conditioned her hair and straightened it and it turned out AWESOME!!
If you want to do your dolls hair make sure you check out the tutorials they are great. If you straighten your dolls and hair make sure its WET!! and on the LOWEST setting! I highly reccomend you watch the tutorials.

Now if you are at a garage sale and see an AG with crazy hair you will know in the back of your mind you can make it like new!

American Girl Dolls!

I got out my American Girl dolls today. I loved these and my daughter really wants one so I gave her one of mine. I can't wait to get her one that looks like her for her birthday!

Here is my Samantha doll and my doll of today. I was going to sell them and buy my daughter one but the dolls don't sell for anymore than they do new so I'm keeping it. I did see the outfits i have sell for $25-$55 each but I just don't think I can part with them!
I loved them a lot, I'm sure you can tell by the hair!

She was SO excited when I let her play with it! and OMG when she found out she could keep it! I've never seen anyone so excited about a doll.

I've been searching the web for doll clothes tutorials and I found a super easy one for pants. I botched the pants. I better read the tutorial next time instead of looking at the pictures! The next ones I make will be perfect! The headband turned out cute at least!

I made this dress and headband from scraps I had around my craft area. i LOVE the way it turned out! I Wish I had more fabric so i could make my daughter a matching dress! how cute would that be!

The dress didn't really have much shape so I added a cute flower belt that can double as a headband!

My daughter is sleeping so I put the doll back in her bed. I can't wait to see how excited she will be when she wakes up!

I finally made some clippies!

So I've been wanting to make those cute little "sculpture" clippies everyone makes but I was to busy and scared. I finally made some last night and I'm super proud of them! I couldn't find any tutorials so I just searched for pictures on google and made them how I thought.

If you like any of them and want to know how let me know and I can make a tutorial for you.

If there is anything you want me to make let me know and I can try and make it and if it turns out I can always do a tutorial =) Can you tell I'm itching to make a tutorial haha.

Here is my cute little bumble bee and some cherries

It's Minnie Mouse!

This is my FAVORITE one! It's actually the entire reason I started making the clippies last night. I wanted one for my daughter. I'm going to give it to her on her first day of dace. I made the other ones to kinda boost my confidence so I could attempt this one. Not bad for my first try. the one I was modeling it after had a pink clip too but her dance outfits are black and pink so I did mine black.

Happy First Day Of School!

Today is the day. My oldest started the first grade! She was super excited!
She picked out her outfit about a week ago.
I topped it off with a bow I made for her that says 1st Grade.

Waiting for the bus.
She loves waiting for the bus and always wants to go out super early.
I still have no idea why haha.

What a GREAT kid!
She gave me a kiss climbed on the bus and posed for a picture.
*tear*

My two year old misses her sister and seems to be lost without her haha.

I was feeling kinda bad for not making my 1 year old a cute lunch. So I made her a quick little one this morning. I mean come on who wants to be the only sister with a boring lunch on a boring plate? I just made her a peanut butter sandwich that I cut into squares and then i put in some grapes, cheese, orange and strawberry slices. No tooth picks because well she would probably eat those too!

I got this cute little cupcake container at walmart in the .97 section.
I also got a lunch bag and sandwich bags that match.

Peek-a-boo baby!
It's lunch time!
